This guy is my 11u coach now
Can anyone explain what the science and reasoning of these drills are?
I don't really understand why "Mine" is called after they get to their spot. Functionally, "Mine" needs to be called out prior to the movement. I run the star drill as a warm up drill, (I call it the clock drill) and have them call "mine" prior to each movement, which is how it should happen in an actual game.
This dude needs major psychiatric help he is so insane.
Nice... Good drill. I needed that..
THis is JOHN KAPELUCK...
Does the 5 ft also apply to 10yr olds?
90s was just built different. Great staple for young coaches build off of. Even here "no coaches hitting the ball"
This is great stuff
Looks more like warm-up and footwork/posture drill than a passing drill.
I SEE YA SPICE!!
I don't get it. I've watched so many overhand videos and everyone makes it look so easy. I keep practicing and I can't get the power they are getting. I'm doing something wrong. Sooo frustrating!
Make sure your toss is far enough frwrd aNd in front of your hitting side(right or left handed…), and -most of the power to a players serve comes from the body not so much the arm or hand itself…how many times have u watched a skinny lil player hammer a serve over nets? We all have and wondered..whaaa? If u only use arm, it won’t go that far if it even goes over. But if u push that side of ur body frwrd at same time u make contact…you’ll be amazed how much diff it makes. Try it, practice it, and nail down ur toss (as in, could make perfect toss w eyes closed)…precision toss is key. U.need.toss.exactly…where u…need it. Not above ur head. Not too far right or left…etc
Thanks for taking the time to reply to my message! I will definitely keep what you said in mind every time I try overhand serve. You're right about small girls powering their serves. I played with a small 13-year-old girl and she powered her overhand serve. I was amazed when I can barely serve it over the net.
🤯🤯👍🏻🔥🔥🔥
Who covers 1st on a bunt if the second baseman is committed to the steal in between the pitcher and SS (covering the bag).
imo you can either get the force at 2nd with the SS covering or if the runner on third breaks - tag play at home. In some case you can get a tag play with the 1Bman on the bunter/runner if hit hard enough at her. You can also have the pitcher field the bunt and hard fake to 1st or 2nd then whip around to 3rd for potential cheating runner... Or you can just chalk it up to what are you trying to accomplish? Not let the runner from 3rd score? then without getting an out you have done that by holding her at third and creating force plays at all bases and potentially putting yourself in a better position to get an out at any base or turn a DP if there are less than 2 outs.
Why would you want feet in? Every professional player I watch, libero or outside hitter, all have their feet facing outside. They look so funny with their feet in lol. Like a hurt or shy Bambi.
ACCEPT JESUS AS YOUR LORD AND SAVIOR
I’m running this with my 8U kids love it.
what kind of 8U kids do you have? the ones I got can barely make a throw halfway heh
why isn't the 1st baseman holding the runner in your video?
Watching after 10 years 😬 20/11/2021 Saturday
Theres one thing I dont like about it but it's better not to say until the good you need and the time and score are right.
Tom House is the man!
People don't believe it, but, jumping is and artform. You have to be in the right position...but, you have to have the mental ware withal to not start and commit early. I've see 5'8 - 5'10 hitter out jump 6' plus...all because they have perfected their jump, the timing and their ability to rotate in the air to use the block to their advantage. I was a bit miffed in the beginning...as I watched the hitter in motion, not Step by Step. This approach isn't different from nearly all the others...maybe different arm positing...
These intensive and repetitious trainings quite moving in a sense. Thank you for uploading!
Lu
Which video is this?
I like the she girl
First, Tom House messed up my shoulder / labrum in the early 90s after I followed his advice as a kid and turned my thumbs down after hand-break to start the pitching motion. Then, 30 years later, I saw this video and did the towel drill with my son, using my right hand as the target. Low and behold, the force of hitting the towel on my hand repeatedly tore the should up AGAIN!! I can't believe this same guy got me twice - 30 years apart!
I think you messed up your shoulder. When done properly you should be fine.
😂
You must be made outta glass to have not even been able to survive possibly one of the simplest and safest drills from Tom. Hell from the looks of this comment, you’re probably part of the reason behind many “not for consumption” product warnings.
Old school gold right here
#98 Is that Anthony Adams? aka Spice Adams???
Yes
Whenever I find a video on approaches, I also encounter comments denying the quality/accuracy of the facts of said video. I just wanna master my god dang approach, I have no idea what to trust :' )
Extraordinary coaching
Imho good video. I got all answers I needed so far: hip placement, ball placement respect to my shoulder, important first step. After I tried all this I started jumping real easy, real high.
No one asked if it was your favorite
All kinds of wrong. It looks like she’s walking up to the ball. Her vertical is nonexistent. What is she? 18? She should be flying. Right now she looks like a 12 year old. Very disappointed.
I attempted many programs in the past but it doesn`t help, however this vertical jump training was the best. Fourteen days ago I could only touch the rim and it was disturbing. Now I could dunk and all my friends are shocked at the swift transformation! It is not hard to find this jump guide by Google. Its name is Julian Jumρosen Take care
More hops than a double ipa. 🐇🍺
